The new Salam and Zoom partnership establishes Etihad Salam Telecom Company as an authorized reseller of Zoom collaboration services in Saudi Arabia. Signed during the LEAP 2026 conference in Riyadh, where Salam participated as a strategic sponsor, the reseller agreement aims to deliver unified communication services to commercial and public sector entities across the Kingdom.

Expansion of the Salam and Zoom partnership

Under the signed agreement, Salam will manage the distribution and deployment of Zoom technology across Saudi Arabia. The offering provides enterprises with tools covering video meetings, voice systems, and digital collaboration software. Furthermore, the collaboration integrates local infrastructure hosting to ensure data residency and strengthened cybersecurity compliance for sensitive organizations.

Abdullah Khorami, Chief Business Officer at Etihad Salam Telecom Company, stated that the arrangement combines local market coverage with globally established communications software to assist organizations in operating efficiently.

“Through locally hosted, AI-powered solutions through a single, integrated experience, we are giving organizations in the Kingdom a powerful advantage, enabling them to work smarter, move faster, and achieve more.”

Targeted Industry Applications and AI Tools

The deployment incorporates Zoom AI capabilities and ZoomMate to support specific organizational use cases. These implementations include digital healthcare consultations, virtual banking branches, remote government services, and automated contact centers. In addition, paid Zoom Workplace subscriptions will include Zoom AI Companion at no extra cost to automate team workflows and meeting tasks through artificial intelligence.

Mohannad AlKalash, Vice President for METAP at Zoom Communications, stated that digital collaboration platforms now serve as critical delivery channels for secure services across key economic sectors.

Regulatory Alignment and Data Compliance

The collaboration specifically addresses data sovereignty mandates required by Saudi government entities and regulated industries. Zoom aligns with the cloud computing framework set by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA), which enforces data residency and security standards for financial institutions using cloud infrastructure. In addition, Zoom operates a local telecommunications data facility in the Kingdom to maintain regulatory compliance.

Market Growth in Unified Communications

Market research indicates that the global unified communications sector is projected to reach 229.4 billion dollars in 2026, while the contact center as a service market is estimated at approximately 8 billion dollars. In Saudi Arabia, adoption is expanding rapidly alongside digital transformation initiatives outlined in Saudi Vision 2030, which continue to accelerate cloud adoption across both public and private sectors.
